Point Social Ad Ideation

Create social ideas that are strategically different, understandable in-feed, safe to develop, and detailed enough to hand to a designer, animator, editor, or creator.

Required references

Read creative-patterns.md before generating concepts. Read brief-output.md and legal-disclosure-planning.md before expanding or formatting a concept.

If available, also use:

  • point-brand-voice for copy, homeowner framing, product language, and compliance-sensitive wording.
  • point-brand-guidelines for visual direction, typography, color, logo, imagery, and accessibility.

Treat those sibling skills and current Legal-approved sources as authoritative when they conflict with examples or defaults here.

Workflow

1. Ground the assignment

Identify the objective, audience, product, homeowner need, funnel stage, platform, placement, format, deliverables, production constraints, timeline, and approved claim sources.

If inputs are incomplete, make a small set of explicit assumptions and continue. Ask only when the missing choice would materially change the work or create compliance risk.

2. Establish claim and disclosure boundaries

Separate inputs into:

  • Approved facts: safe to use as provided.
  • Needs validation: limits, rates, terms, timelines, eligibility, availability, testimonials, ratings, performance claims, and legal language.
  • Prohibited inference: guarantees, universal-best claims, invented outcomes, invented quotes, or unsupported comparisons.

Never carry current product facts or legal copy from historical creative, mockups, or prior briefs. Use placeholders such as [approved proof point] and [Legal-approved disclosure] when validation is pending.

Plan three disclosure layers separately:

  1. baseline company and licensing footer
  2. claim-specific qualification or footnote
  3. optional, time-sensitive trust proof

3. Build concept territories

Generate territories before executions. Make each territory distinct across at least three of these dimensions:

  • homeowner tension or job to be done
  • core insight or promise
  • product story
  • proof type
  • social format or visual device
  • emotional payoff
  • motion or interaction pattern
  • CTA or next step

Do not present headline swaps as separate ideas. Combine patterns only when the concept stays easy to understand.

4. Design for the feed

Give every concept:

  • a first-frame or first-three-seconds hook
  • one message that works without sound
  • a simple hierarchy at mobile size
  • a plausible production method
  • a clear CTA
  • one primary test variable
  • enough space or time for required legal content

For video, pair dialogue with supporting text instead of transcribing every word. For loops, define what moves, what stays fixed, how the reset remains seamless, and where the legal footer remains visible or receives a dedicated end card.

5. Rank the concepts

Score or discuss each idea against:

  • immediate clarity
  • strategic distinctiveness
  • homeowner relevance
  • Point brand fit
  • product and compliance safety
  • silent-first readability
  • legal legibility
  • production feasibility
  • cutdown and resize potential
  • testability and learning value

Recommend the strongest ideas with a short rationale. Preserve at least one lower-production idea and one bolder idea when the request calls for range.

6. Expand selected concepts

Use the production brief structure in brief-output.md. Specify the concept, hook, sequence, copy roles, format, ratios, deliverables, references, source assets, disclosure plan, guardrails, validation needs, and test plan.

For each selected concept, include a draft creative asset and design direction. Show the intended composition, message hierarchy, imagery or footage, typography and color roles, CTA treatment, motion behavior when relevant, legal-safe area, and required source assets. When the user wants something visual and the available tools support it, create a rough mockup, storyboard, or representative key frame; otherwise provide a clear text-based layout sketch. Label these outputs as creative drafts pending design refinement, source-asset verification, accessibility checks, and Legal review.

Distinguish among:

  • Concept direction: the strategic idea and intended takeaway.
  • Creative execution: how the idea appears in a specific format.
  • Copy draft: proposed language that requires factual and legal validation.
  • Production instruction: what the maker should build, animate, shoot, or edit.

7. Run final checks

Confirm that:

  • the concepts are meaningfully different
  • each concept lands one primary message
  • HEI is not framed as a loan
  • HELOC is not framed as no-payment financing
  • comparisons help homeowners assess fit instead of declaring a universal winner
  • financial stress is treated respectfully
  • the CTA is specific and low-pressure
  • unverified claims, testimonials, ratings, and legal language are flagged
  • baseline and claim-specific disclosures have a legible placement plan
  • required Legal review is called out
  • every execution is readable at its intended size and coherent without sound

Default deliverable

Unless the user asks for another shape, return:

  1. assumptions, claim dependencies, and disclosure dependencies
  2. six to ten concise concept territories
  3. a ranked top three
  4. production-ready briefs for selected concepts
  5. a draft creative asset or design direction for each selected concept
  6. a test matrix showing the single primary variable for each execution

Scale the output to the request. For a quick brainstorm, stop after territories and recommendations. For handoff work, include the full brief, sequence, and disclosure plan.
