NVIDIA launched the Open Secure AI Alliance with more than 30 inaugural partners spanning cloud, cybersecurity, enterprise software and open source. Microsoft, Hugging Face, IBM, CrowdStrike, Cisco, Cloudflare and the Linux Foundation are among the members. The group plans to build and share open models, agent harnesses, security tools and vulnerability-remediation techniques.
The alliance’s first NVIDIA contribution includes the open-source NOOA research framework for making agent behavior easier to test, trace, audit and govern. The initiative also argues that policymakers should treat open models and tooling as defensive assets while pairing access with safeguards, evaluations and rapid remediation.
CXMT’s Shanghai debut resets the memory-chip scoreboard
Shares of Chinese DRAM maker CXMT jumped 466% in their first day of trading, giving the company an estimated market value above $487 billion after an $8.6 billion offering. The surge briefly made CXMT the most valuable company listed in mainland China and capped one of the year’s largest technology listings.
Multiverse raises up to $570 million for efficient AI
Multiverse Computing announced a Series C of up to $570 million at a $1.7 billion pre-money valuation. Forgepoint Capital International, BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund and Bullhound Capital co-led the round. The company says its CompactifAI technology can compress large models by 80% to 95%, supporting cloud, on-device and sovereign deployments.
OpenAI finds workers using AI beyond their formal roles
OpenAI Economic Research analyzed more than 800,000 messages from U.S. ChatGPT users and found that 43.5% of occupation-specific messages concerned tasks associated with another occupation. The report says this “task crossover” is especially visible among customer-experience workers, designers and human-resources teams, and is somewhat more common in smaller workplaces.
NVIDIA gives engineering agents physics and simulation tools
NVIDIA expanded its Agent Toolkit with reworked PhysicsNeMo libraries and updated CUDA-X components that agents can call for physics modeling, sparse solvers and quantum chemistry. Cadence, Siemens, Synopsys and other engineering-software companies are testing the stack across chip design, verification, packaging and industrial simulation. NVIDIA also introduced cuISS for iterative sparse solving in engineering workflows.
Vera moves into NVIDIA’s own chip-design loop
NVIDIA is deploying its Vera CPU across EDA workflows used to design future CPUs and GPUs. Early tests with Cadence Jasper and Synopsys VCS showed up to 1.5x higher performance on selected verification workloads using the same core counts.
Hugging Face asks OpenAI to release agent traces
Hugging Face CEO Clément Delangue called for OpenAI to publish traces from the agent behind the recent breach and commit $100 million in compute toward community-built cyber defenses. OpenAI said a technical report will follow its review.
