Google Cloud grows 103%, while Alphabet's cash flow turns negative
Google's AI demand is turning into substantial revenue, but the infrastructure bill is arriving too. Today's numbers show what that expansion costs; new releases from Google, OpenAI and GitHub show where the next wave of work may happen.

Google Cloud grows 103%, while Alphabet's cash flow turns negative
Alphabet reported quarterly revenue of $127.6 billion, up 25%, with Google Cloud contributing $30.7 billion after 103% growth. Enterprise AI infrastructure, AI solutions and core computing all contributed; specialized systems sales also matter, so the headline cannot be read as recurring model revenue alone.
Reuters reported negative free cash flow of $9.07 billion as infrastructure spending expanded. That does not establish that each AI transaction loses money: investment cash leaves before an asset's lifetime returns arrive. It does put capacity, utilization and the durability of demand at the center of Google's AI growth story.

Anthropic reports five exploit chains—with different consequences
Anthropic says an unreleased Claude research model built chains affecting Chrome, Safari, Android, Windows and Linux. Outcomes ranged from information exposure and denial of service to code execution under specific conditions; they were not five equivalent device takeovers. The company says fixes followed coordinated disclosure.
